Tuhi Mai Tuhi Atu buddy class Google Meet

Kia Ora everyone, 

We in Room 4 are really excited about being part of Tuhi Mai Tuhi Atu again in 2021. My class in 2020 was part of the programme and we really enjoyed connecting with other rangatahi from across the Manaiakalani whānau. 

This year our buddy classes are;

• Whenua 21 @ Paroa School - based on the West Coast of the South Island
• Room 7 @ Glenbrae School - based in East Auckland

'Just Dance' @ Wesley Intermediate School

Kia Ora Kotou, 

A massive part of our school culture here at Wesley is our 4 Houses. You'll see on a lot of our learner blogs that there is some sort of reference to houses. We rep our houses hard and our students love getting points for their house so that they can try and win the overall standings each week. 

Usually once a week, we have 'Just Dance' in the hall for fitness in the morning before our learning begins. The hall is divided into quarters and each house is allocated an area to dance and take part in our Just Dance songs. From there, a member of staff allocates house points based on which house was taking part the most, which teachers were getting into it, etc. 

As you'll see from these videos, things get a bit crazy!

House Leaders for 2021

In addition to the normal school assembly on Friday last week, we also had the pleasure of presenting the House leader badges to our Leaders and Deputy Leaders. 

3 students from our class received their badges as Deputy Leaders for their Houses: 

• Lucy for Marlborough 
• Richard and Bella for Windsor.

Manaaki Award Winners - Week 4 Term 1

Lucy and Natalia - Ako Hiko Bloggers of the Week!

 A huge congratulations to Lucy and Natalia for being chosen as Ako Hiko Bloggers of the Week for Term 1 Week 3. This week for CyberSmart they created an awesome 'pick a path' Slides to teach people about the Kawa of Care and how to look after devices responsibly. Here is a link to the Ako Hiko blog page.
